Steer clear of this place. MD's unregulated rate hikes allow owners to act more like thieves if they are morally bankrupt. Note: I recently received an exorbitant 109 increase and received notice of it on 12/16 due by 12/29. My bill was 209.00. It is now 309.00. They say they send their notices out by mail but why not by email, too --- especially if someone is homeless or out of town during the Christmas holiday (This is not rocket science.). We had a good experience so far, mainly thanks to Kerry, the Silver Spring location manager… She’s been GREAT so far. She recently brought to our attention some potential issues we may have with the lock on our unit’s gate. She’s one of the reason we choose “Self Storage Plus”… Kerry has been very helpful, professional and took time to explain things; even when we were still shopping around for the right storage company. Rented the unit sight unseen cause it was such a great price. However when I opened the unit it looked like it hadn't been cleaned. There was a red stain not sure if it was food, bodily fluid or what. There were also rat droppings. Its a shame cause the price was so good for the amount of space and there was 2 level of security. I didn't even bother moving any of my stuff in, what a waste of money for a space I didn't even use.
We had a great experience in selecting our unit with Kerry. She was knowledgeable and helpful with all of our questions and showing us multiple units that were available to help us find exactly what we needed.
MAJOR RAT INFESTATION ! Our entire unit is covered with rat feces and rat pee . We have lost literally EVERYTHING that we own ! Based on the 1 star reviews dating back almost 4 years ago , the company is fully aware of the rat infestation and has been running this scam! After you discover all your damages they try and calm your nerves with the false narrative that the insurance will pay you the maximum $4900 for the damaged goods which in our case was already a low amount being that we have upwards of $10,000 worth of damage... read more
