This used to be a 5 star review for how nice the unit itself was but I was completely bait and switched. I moved into my unit at the end of July 2025 with a monthly rate of $81. They notified me 3 weeks prior to a rate increase of almost 50%! My new monthly rate is $144. How on earth do you raise the rate THIS much in less than 6 months? I do NOT recommend, extremely shady business practices. Avoid!!

We got a unit here in July and was told our price would not be raised the first year. Just received letter saying our price was going up $10 per month, immediately. Kind of hard to do anything about it when we live 700 miles away. Had got the unit for our vacation stuff. Definitely not a good way to treat your customers.

I could not have been more impressed with their telephone customer service. Monae Was the agent I dealt with and he made the process seamless and saved me a lot of money in the process. This is my first experience with storage units and the staff has been patient and kind, and it’s definitely the best price I found in our area

Self ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Storage Plus on Oak Island is clean, secure, and easy to use. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are fair. Couldn’t ask for a better storage option!

This is my first time using a storage unit and I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and easy it was to use the unit. Chasity, the young lady working there is just fabulous! She was so helpful and knowledgeable and nice. I hope the owners realize what a good employee they have! Highly recommend it
