I definitely do not recommend this place to store your goods. I’ve been here for years, and there was an ownership change about a year ago that has caused the quality of service here to decline significantly. There are gnats because the place isn’t clean. Every time I visit my unit, there is trash in the common spaces. After going to two other storage facilities, i made the best decision choosing Self Storage Plus on Lawrence Ave. in Washington DC. All my questions were answered. Even when i ran into a little problem John (facility manager) was able to address the matter and made everything right! He is very knowledgeable, professional and will go the extra mile to get you the storage unit you need if he can. I had my belongings stored here for about two months. Do not use the disc locks that this facility provides! My storage unit was broken into and a TV and other electronics were stolen. When I called to complain I never received a response. I am now realized the extent of the theft after moving and unpacking my belongings. The insurance is useless in instances where a skilled thief picks the lock as the insurance only accepts claims where "forced entry" can be proven. The manager at Lawrence street is John & he has been super warm, helpful, and always helps me beyond measure. He puts “service” back in customer service. He’s people centered and does his best to help out. I’m happy to have experienced him and thankful to know he’s the one managing my storage location. But on top of that—this location is very clean and always has plenty of rolling carts during business hours to making moving so smooth. I regret using this place for storage. They do not send me billing statements via email, they do not provide a way to view them online, and after a year of being a customer I have to call them every time I go to pay my bill to review charges, and I can barely get anyone on the phone. The people who work there are helpful and great if you can get them on the phone, or when you see them in person, but the overall administration of this company is horrible.
