I have been using A-1 Storage at Vanowen Street, North Hollywood for a number of years now and have found the staff to be more than capable, responsible and very pleasant to do business with. They have maintained a clean and orderly facility. I have and would continue to recommend this facility and staff to my friends and family.
I was pleased to become a new customer of A-1 Self Storage. Their rates are very competitive, and their facility is top-notch. Their employees are also very friendly and helpful. I was moving my family this past weekend in 100 degree weather, and found that they have a free Arrowhead water cooler available to all their clients. It was a refreshing surprise!
In addition to the reasons for my previous negative review, I've now learned that I brought home roaches from my storage unit. Now I want to burn my belongings! I DO NOT recommend A-1 storage.

Be prepared to pay significantly more than the advertised price. In addition to rent increases over time, tenants are required to purchase extra for insurance although the landlord only accepts responsibility for losses up to $2,500 and does not cover theft or water damage. You are also required to buy a special lock directly from A-1 to secure your unit. The front staff are super helpful and kind. I lost my keys and they helped me find a good locksmith to assist me with getting the lock removed. They then gave me recommendations on how to not lose all of my keys again thanks Phil!

Thank goodness for these guys! They are open until 10 for storage access, which is human. I don't understand other companies that have hours that end at 5 or 6... How is anyone with a normal work schedule supposed to make a move there? This was cut and dry and quick and painless
