A-1 Self Storage

We picked a storage place based on 1) safety, 2) cleanliness, 3) accessibility. A-1 Storage in Belmont fit all three. The storage rooms are concrete with metal doors. The rooms are clean and dry and spacious. There are elevators to help move things in or out, and you can drop by during the day to get what you need. You can even borrow push carts for free to load stuff on your car! Fantastic experience... we used it for 10 months to store our apartment while on an extended trip. Really great experience.

Had some stuff in storage for a couple months. I liked that the place was newer and much cleaner than other places I visited. Front desk staff was always helpful and I felt like my stuff was safe because of all the cameras everywhere. Only small gripe was the big elevator would get busy on weekends, so you had to wait a bit. Check their website for first month free deal.

Had used their facility for 3 months as we left the Bay Area and then returned. We took a 5x5 unit. First thing I noticed was that it was really really clean. As the first month was free, I got a really good deal with the price as well. The entire process of signing and acquiring the unit was hassle free and took all of 30 minutes from the time we parked our car and the time we placed our first box inside. They also offered us insurance at a very good price. 3 months later, when we opened the unit and started taking our boxe... read more

Do NOT follow the internet guidance that tells you U-haul is located here if your goal is to buy boxes. It is not. I made that mistake today solely to go buy packing materials and instead bought them from A-1. The pricing there is a disaster. It's fake, because the prices posted only apply if you buy 10 or more. And every items costs twice as much as it does down at u-haul. I regret going in an buying boxes. Also they messed up at checkout and didn't apply the price that does apply when you do buy 10 or more. Just go to Uhau... read more

You don't think of "self" storage as a service industry, but Antonio and JP were great. Courteous, helpful, and above all, flexible. I wasn't sure about the size unit I needed, so they offered to estimate once they saw the stuff - and they weren't suggesting huge sizes and even mentioned that the movers could estimate, too, so it didn't feel that they were trying anything. Once they saw the stuff, they agreed with the movers on the size and all good. Really appreciated the flexibility - didn't lock me into anything too early... read more

Great service from JP & James! I was in a crunch & needed to move out of my apartment. Their rates were ok but I did get the 1st month free. The building was extremely clean & well lit. What I liked most was the great customer service I received from the guys up front! They went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of.

I enjoyed storing at this location. It was very clean inside and out. The 10 pm access hours helped make the arduous process of moving into my new apartment a smooth and easy experience. The gentlemen in the office are great. James has been extremely helpful and kind to my husband and I. Service here is second to none. If I ever need storage again, I will be a returning customer. Highly recommended.

I have - for the better or worse - been renting at or involved somehow at A-1 almost since they opened. By the worse, I don't mean the facilities or service but the time I have been there is and will always be associated with some of the worst experiences of my life: first, the loss of mi corazon, mi madre Rosita after losing finally her long and painful battle with cervical cancer and second, the rancorous battles and trench warfare and disastrous aftermath of a bitter, rancorous divorce. I share these dark experiences with... read more
