Staff is very friendly and helpful! They answered all my questions and provided me with helpful information. Will definitely be renting a unit here!

Been renting a garage since November 2016. Clean facility. The friendly guy left and now it's an older lady. I haven't met her yet though. The only thing negative for me is the amount of homeless people that rent and hang out in their unit all day. Some look creepy. Luckily I don't have to go through the Halls since I have a garage outside

Very friendly staff will help you find just the right size for your needs - including strange shaped units under stairs with extra space. If you don't have proof of homeowner/rental insurance, add $10/mo to whatever prices you are quoted.

Thank you for the feedback, Oren. You are correct, we do charge an additional $10 a month for our customer protection plan. That charge can be removed at any time once proof of insurance has been provided.
I had a great experience with A-1 Storage. Philis was great. The team in El Cajon has great customer service. They were more than just employees but social workers as well. Lol I'll miss them!!!
This was the best storage experience I have ever had because the onsite office gave awesome customer service! They explained everything in detail and told me ahead of time about anything complicated and made sure I knew how to get in and out and lock up and when the bills were due and how I could pay online! I really appreciate them!

Be very wary of this company! First off, they are more expensive than most other places. I rented a 5x5 for 50% off of usual $71/mo. On top of the $35.50,they added $20 (admin fee) and $10 (mandatory insurance that really didn't even cover my stuff) = $65 for a 5x5! Next month was going to be $81 for a 5x5?? No thank you. Found a cheaper unit. Got out in 26 days. Second thing, woman in the office said one thing but it wasn't listed in the agreement. We stored items there for almost five years. Just recently we traveled to San Diego to retrieve them. First things first. Phyllis, the manager, and Patrick, an employee, were great. We have no issues with them. Secondly, we have no issues with the unit itself. Our issues stem with exorbitant rent costs, which increased almost $30 in the time we were there, from $65 to almost $95. Ridiculous and, in our opinion, borderline criminal. Your original monthly rate is not guaranteed for the life of your rental with A-1. We find it necessary to make adjustments to our customers' rental rates from time to time, in order to keep up with the rising costs associated with providing top-notch service and a clean, secure facility.
We had to store stuff for several years and Patrick and Phyllis were always helpful, friendly and took awesome care of us and our stuff. Thanks!
