Had the best experience renting a storage unit from A-1 Storage Santa Ana in San Jose! I loved the safety and security of the building, it was always so clean and well kept, bright, everything was always functioning extremely well, and the staff was incredible! James was always so friendly and helpful. I couldn't recommend this place enough! If you're ever in need of a storage unit look no further. Staff is oddly creepy. Many of times the elevator doesn't even work Over priced for the little that you get and can find a better value elsewhere
Before moving in A1-Self Storage , I had been visited many other companies but this one, the very one on Santa Ana Ave is at another level. They set a higher standard for self-storage. Clean, welcoming, secured, and professional. Every time I come to visit my unit, I see someone swiping the driveway, hallway, and parking lot. Think about it, they even swipe the parking lot every day. You might think the restroom might be filthy, but NO, it's even cleaner than a hotel restroom. Clean facility with professional team. I ended up needing to close the unit when my boyfriend and I broke up and the folks at the desk were super helpful, especially since it was a sad, emotional situation.
it's a really good storage, they allow to entry until 10 pm,which is great. I have use A1 storage for a while. Before I use in a different location, I trust their service. They make everything safety enough
I booked the place on-line and they asked about using their insurance or my home owners insurance. I selected to use our home owners insurance. To my surprise, when I arrived at the facility to complete the signup - everything was old fashioned using paper forms, was not impressed with this, what a waste. Also, the insurance question came up I discovered to my big surprise and was not happy that they need a copy of your home owners insurance policy to verify what is covered and if you don't have it they add on an additional ... read more

I'm sorry to hear you had anything less than a 5 star experience, Eric. It sounds like there was some miscommunication that caused a lot of frustration. We do allow you to rent your storage unit completely online, even before coming down to the office. And like most storage companies, we do require proof of homeowner's insurance at the time of rental. I'm sorry these things weren't communicated more clearly to you. A-1 gets an A-plus! I had a storage unit at this location for the past 3 years before I moved to a place with more space, and I had the best experience! I did tons of research on companies all over the Bay Area (as far out as Livermore), trying to find the lowest rates. Little did I know that this location closest to my last apt. had the best rates hands down! The interior of the building is spotless and well-lit, and I always felt very safe. Stored my furniture here for a year and had no problems. Staff is professional and always answered my questions, even during the Pandemic (COVID-19). Property was always clean, which is important for me. The only issue I had, which is very minor, the elevators don't hold long as you're loading/unloading. Aside from that, I was highly satisfied.
